The Groot Omroepkoor (GOK) offers master’s students and young professionals (who graduated no more than two years ago) the opportunity to gain experience in a large professional choir. They are admitted to the GOK Academy, where they participate in at least three productions during that season. The GOK Academy offers a unique opportunity to become acquainted with the extensive choral repertoire and to work with world-class conductors and orchestras. In each production, the academy members receive guidance and feedback from a mentor and participate in a workshop two or three times during the season. Watch the promo here.

GOK Academy auditions

Audition date: May 25, 2026

Registration including CV, motivation letter, and a list of projects for which you would be available.

• 1 aria from romanticism
• 1 aria in a contrasting style and language.
• Bach choral "Herzliebster Jesu" from Matthew Passion

• Britten's War Requiem concerts on October 2 and 4, 2026; rehearsals September 21–27 and September 28–October 4
• Poulenc, including Gloria, concert on October 17, 2026; rehearsals: October 5–11 and October 12–18
• Rossini Stabat Mater concerts November 6 & 8, 2026; rehearsals October 26–November 8
• Bertin Fausto concert November 21, 2026 (rehearsals: November 9–15, November 16–22)
• Beethoven's *Christus am Ölberg* concert on March 26, 2027; rehearsals: February 17–19 and March 24–26
• Mendelssohn’s *Elijah* concert June 11, 2027; rehearsals May 18–21 and June 7–11

Note Once admitted to the Academy, you will receive half the salary earned by a substitute teacher. In addition, you will receive travel expenses, exclusively within the Netherlands. The GOK does not reimburse travel and accommodation expenses for participants residing abroad.
