Join us for the ^7th Great Sing Along Concert!

At the last Great Singing Concert, a great cheer went up at the announcement of the program for the Great Singing Concert 2025: Orff's Carmina Burana.

A medieval manuscript full of poetry, songs and verses was the basis for Carl Orff's world-famous Carmina Burana. The result is a theatrical and breathtaking spectacle with as its central theme the fate with which man must live. The overwhelming opening chorus "O Fortuna" has become a real hit that has even made its way into pop music.

Sunday, February 2, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in TivoliVredenburg

We cordially invite you to take part in the Groot Meezingconcert around Orff's Carmina Burana. On Sunday, February 2, the Groot Omroepkoor will organize the seventh edition of the Groot Meezingconcert in the beautiful main hall of TivoliVredenburg.
The Groot Meezingconcert will once again be conducted by the former chief conductor of the Groot Omroepkoor, Martin Wright.

The accompaniment is entrusted to pianists Ben Martin Weijand (GOK) and Pauline Post and the percussionists of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.

We are proud that the bass, tenor and soprano solos are performed by members of the Great Broadcasting Choir.

Discount for Friends and students
If you are a Friend of the Groot Omroepkoor or the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra you can benefit from a substantial discount: you will not pay € 42.50 but only € 25.00 for participation in this unique event. This discount also applies to students. (NB: max. 2 tickets per person).

Workshops
Like other years, we are giving you the opportunity to participate in a free workshop.

A maximum of 450 singers can participate per workshop (December 7, 2024 or January 11, 2025), so be quick. You can sign up when you order the ticket for the Meezingconcert, a menu of choices will follow. The workshops will take place at the Muziekcentrum van de Omroep in Hilversum. (Walk-in from 10.30 / workshops from 11.00 to approx. 17.00) Further information will follow later.

Where the voice group is divided, the sing-alongs basically sing the lower voice. The small and children's choir is sung by the Great Broadcast Choir.

Tip: Carmina Burana in Concertgebouw

On Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10, the Groot Omroepkoor will sing the Carmina Burana in the Concertgebouw. A great opportunity to become acquainted (again) with the magnificent work. To order tickets click here.
