No instrument comes as close to the human voice as the cello. In this varied program of the most beautiful music for choir and cello, Quirine Viersen melds her instrument with heavenly choral sounds in music by Bach, Pärt and Arenski, among others.

Netherlands Radio Choir

The Groot Omroepkoor is the only professional choir in the Netherlands specializing in symphonic choral repertoire, ranging from the great well-known works of all eras to the latest music they perform at the NTR ZaterdagMatinee, the AVROTROS Vrijdagconcert and The Sunday Morning Concert, among others. With their heavenly voices, the choir invariably manages to impress. Thus Place de l'Opera wrote: "the Groot Omroepkoor under the direction of Benjamin Goodson was exemplary. Pace, rhythm, dynamics, lightness of sound and balance of all the voices - there was really nothing left to be desired.'

Cellist Quirine Viersen

Quirine Viersen is internationally among the most prominent musical personalities of her generation. With her intense, expressive and virtuoso cello playing, she continually succeeds in convincing colleagues, press and audience of her great musicality and mastery. Like no other, she can fuse her instrument with the heavenly choral sounds of the Groot Omroepkoor.
