Albert van Ommen
Albert van Ommen started at the age of 12 in the Noord-Hollands Jongenskoor in Alkmaar, where he received singing and piano lessons. From 1989 he studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, with Margreet Honig, Maarten Koningsberger and Paula de Wit. In 1996 he received his teaching diploma.
After this, Albert went on to study at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, with Diane Forlano and Rita Dams where he graduated in 1998 as out performing musician.
Simultaneously with his performing musician studies, he also studied at the Opera Akademie between the conservatories of Amsterdam and The Hague.
Albert worked with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra conducted by Yakov Kreizberg, the Metropole Orchestra conducted by Vince Mendoza and gave concerts with the pianist Rudolf Jansen, among others. In 2016 he appeared at the Dutch opera in Amsterdam with the opera Only the sound remains by Finnish composer Kaya Saariaho directed by renowned director Peter Sellars.
Albert is a singer in the Groot Omroepkoor and the Nederlands Kamerkoor.
He is currently being vocally coached by Marion van den Akker.
