Dorien Verheijden
Soprano Dorien Verheijden obtained her UM piano degree and simultaneously studied singing at the Maastricht Academy of Music with Mia Besselink. Afterwards she was coached by Erna Spoorenberg and Roland Klekamp, among others. She sings with the Groot Omroepkoor as well as the Nederlands Kamerkoor and Cappella Amsterdam. Dorien performs frequently as a soloist and chamber musician. With the chamber music ensemble ENSEMBLE SOLANGE (New York/Freiburg) she performs mainly modern chamber music in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and the USA. She has premiered works by Luc Marcel (Toronto), Johnny Reinhard (New York), John Catler (New York), Andries van Rossum, Tijn Stoverink and Jeppe Moulijn, among others.
Her repertoire includes the Attila József excerpts for solo soprano by György Kurtág, with whom she has worked.
