Marga Melerna

Marga Melerna is first alto in the Groot Omroepkoor. She was born in 1957 in Velsen. In 1979 she obtained the teaching musician diploma and the soloist diploma. In 2006 she graduated as a teacher of the Alexander Technique. Her teachers were Cora Canne-Meyer for voice and Tessa Marwick and Paul Versteeg for Alexander Technique.

Marga Melerna worked as an assistant at the Sweelinck Conservatoire. She has also worked for the Operastudio, the Pfalz-Theater Kaiserslautern and the Nederlands Kamerkoor. Marga Melerna won the Janine Micheau Prize at the International Vocal Competition in Den Bosch. Since 1989 Marga has sung with the Groot Omroepkoor. In addition, she has her own teaching practice for singing and the Alexander Technique.

Marga regularly gives song recitals for the association Vrienden van het Lied www.vvhl.nl together with pianist Jorrit van den Ham. www.margamelerna.nl
