Palle Fuhr Jørgensen

The baritone Palle Fuhr Jørgensen was born in 1955 in Odense, Denmark. He studied at the Pedagogical Academy in his native country. After that he started a study at the Sweelinck Conservatoire in Amsterdam.

After a few years of study at the opera class, he continued his training with private lessons. He had lessons from Erik Hammer, Louis Devos, Marie Louise Hendrickx, Zeger Vandersteene and Lucienne Van Deijck, and followed master classes with Cathy Berberian, Tom Krause and Guus Hoekman.
Palle briefly worked as a teacher in Denmark and then worked freelance with the Groot Omroepkoor. He also sang in the Koor Nieuwe Muziek, the Nederlands Kamerkoor and the Netherlands Bach Choir. He forms a duo with pianist Roel Praas and has performed solo in oratorio and opera productions, concerts and song recitals. He was 5th prize winner at the Mina Bolotine Competition in Antwerp.

In 1983 he was given his permanent appointment as bass with the Groot Omroepkoor. Besides his work for Groot Omroepkoor, Palle Fuhr Jørgensen is an enthusiastic violist and plays in orchestras as well as string quartets. He enjoys cooking, walking the dog, cycling, camping, doing odd jobs and gardening.
