Just before Christmas, the inspired conductor Jan Willem de Vriend comes to lead the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and Groot Omroepkoor through an evening of sacred choral music. To be heard is a tribute by Igor Stravinsky to his favorite composer Bach. Then the radiant choral cantata Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her by Mendelssohn, and finally one of the most beautiful masses by Joseph Haydn, in which the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa even sang the soprano solos!
