French conductor Stéphane Denève has already shown in previous Matinees that he can work magic with French scores. In addition to his love of contemporary music, this is the main reason why he has become a regular guest conductor of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra starting this season. Denève immediately puts a first exclamation point behind the collaboration with two superb French ballets - Roussel's flaming Bacchus et Ariane and Ravel's complete Daphnis et Chloé. Red earth and Aborigines
The regular guest conductor further solidifies his relationship with the orchestra with new notes from Dutch soil. If there is one Dutch composer who can rival the colorfulness and rhythmic finesse of French scores, it is Richard Rijnvos. In the spring of 2022, he impressed with his breathtaking Amérique du Sud.
